Preferred Customers Hopes To Register With The Indie Film Crowd

Preferred Customers (http://www.preferredcustomersthemovie.com/) is a recently finished 10-minute comedy about the trouble that ensues when two losers attempt to hold up a grocery store. It was filmed during overnight hours at the Mr. Z’s grocery store in Lombard earlier this year. Brendan Kelly, a Chicago writer/actor who has been involved with a number of revues at the Second City venue Donny’s Skybox (http://www.secondcity.com/training/chicago/performances/), wrote the script. The film’s director was Matthew Koehler, who previously directed the short films Logical Fallacy and Brothers. The cast includes Drew Petrella, Hilary Staton, John B. Ross, and Daniella Briseno as the store employees, and Alex Moffat and Chris Matthews as the robbers who are ill-suited to their chosen profession. With the slacker-friendly tagline, “You guys are like the worst robbers Ever,” Preferred Customers should appeal to the indie film crowd, and producer Justus Meyer plans to distribute it on the festival circuit, where it could be shown in as many as 75 markets.
