Want to spend your New Year’s Eve with Gene Hackman, Ernest Borgnine, Roddy McDowall and Shelley Winters on a sinking ship? Who Doesn’t!? Camp Midnight presents “THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE New Year’s Eve Celebration,” Chicago’s only New Year’s Eve cinema event. This screening will feature digital projection with added bonus material using the Music Box Theatre’s brand new and state of the art digital projection system!

This screening is a spectacular and camptacular follow-up to the November Music Box and Camp Midnight presented “VALLEY OF THE DOLLS” screening that was sold out!

“Passengers” are invited to embark at 11:00 pm on December 31 for a fantabulous Camp Midnight pre-show hosted by your Captain Dick O’Day and staffed by the hearty crew of Hell in a Handbag Productions. There will be a costume competition with fantastic prizes as voted on by the audience! So put on your best wear from that secondhand store!

Then sit back and enjoy a screening of the film most beloved disaster flick in cinema history, THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE. This 1972 Academy Award-winning “classic” tells the tale of a tottering ocean liner that flips over one fateful New Year’s Eve.

Audience members will receive an interactive guide and Camp Midnight will provide hilarious running commentary throughout the film. The screening of the film will be timed so that theatre patrons AND their celluloid counterparts will celebrate midnight at the EXACT SAME TIME.

Admission includes a complimentary champagne toast and party favors. A portion of the proceeds will help fund Hell in a Handbag Productions.
